"Son" - a Man's Immortality.

As individuals most of us all want immortality, even though we know it is not in the cards for any of us. Especially as men we want the ability to be there for our spouse and our children, yet the probabilities are against it.

"Mortals long for the Taste of Immortality, it's Constant Reassuring Power - No Worry of Finality"..."The Immortal on the Other Hand, Longs for the Distinct Sense of the Vitality of a Mortal Life that can only be Enjoyed if One Can Lose It". So as parents we become immortal by having children. And fathers become able to continue their family name and their longing to protect their precious spouse and children through their sons.

In my case I am particularly fortunate to have a son like Matthew. His ability to defend our family has already equaled or perhaps even exceeded mine. Soon he will surpass me scholastically and religiously. No man could be prouder to have such a son as I am of mine…my son…Matthew Lane.
